Poems of the Week

Mr Tom loves to rhyme and so do Boggles too. Whilst Twiggles like to giggle and the Thornyclod likes shoes! Combine running WILD in our woods with lots of merriment and out of it comes some wonderous poetry. Here's a selection of the best ones so far....

      BeWILDerwood - An Adventurer's Story!

The nut trees are empty, the bats have been naughty.
Into the tunnel we go, it's been made by the Thornyclod and the roof's low.
The picnic grounds we have found, the Thornyclod must not pound.
Sticklenose climbs up high to the tall tree, Willow is starting to weep.
It's scary climb to the Broken Bridge, underneath is a deep ridge.
Snagglefang and the gang are feeding young Sticklenose slugghor...

      Secret Trail

When I go on a trail in the woods,
I spy a Boggle, I just stare and stood.
When I go down the river on a boat,
      I spy a Witch roasting a stoat.
I’m trying to find my friend, he’s a Boggle you see,
He lives way up high in a house in a tree.
I’ve found some footprints, which lead to a lake,
I hop in a boat, and I choose a route to take.
I come to a bridge which leads to a tree,

      BeWILDerwood

Deep in the forest where the Crocklebogs lie,
Adventure stands for you and I,
There is a place beyond your craziest imagination,
A land of Boggles, Twiggles and spiny Thornyclods,
A magical, mystical place with marshy pongs and a muddled maze,
      There is adventure . . .

Deep in the wood where witches settle,
Lies adventure for you and I,
There is a place wilder than yo...

      Mia's Poem

A Boggle eats stew and mud pie too,
      Whichever is nice,
      I don't care,
      Do you?

      What did I see?

I went to BeWILDerwood what did I see,
I saw lots of tree houses and I met Mildred the Crocklebog,
And in the tree houses what did I see,
I saw Boggles and Twiggles and the Twiggles were like me.

      BeWILDerwood

Boggles don't reach for the sky,
So that is why Boggles don't fly.
The game Bogglebutt is really fun,
So that is why Swampy knows none.
Thornyclod says "Boots, Boots, oh Boots",
Yet Thornyclod thinks "Moots, Moots, oh Moots".
      BeWILDerwood is made from wood,
Yet the Twiggles call wood "Sood".
When the Twiggles like to wiggle,
      They also like to giggle.
      Moss had lost a ...

      Magical Wood

Who can swim without a woggle?
      Don't you know - it's a Boggle
      Wearing trunks and goggles
I love swimming just like Boggles!

      Twiggles live in the treetops
And their favourite food is icepops.
But be very careful where you stand,
Or on your head icepops may land!

Deep in the wood there lives a Witch
With a pointy hat and a leg with a twitch
      She casts a spell ...

      I am a Boggle

      I am a Boggle,
      My friend is a Twiggle.
      I live in a bog,
My friend lives in a log.
      I have lots of friendies,
My best friend is called Bengy.
      I am purple,
      My friend is burple.
      I am called Swampy,
My other friend is called Grumpy.
Me and my friend went on an adventure,
      We saw a strange creature.
We thought it was a crocodile but it was a Crocklebog.
      We got i...

      The adventures of BeWILDerwood

There was a Crocklebog called Mildred, who lived in BeWILDerwood.
She was very tickly, but very prickly.
Twiggles are funny, they're very sunny.
They dance in trees and look very pleased, with their costumes and outfits.
Boggles don't go adventuring, I don't know why,
The Witch looks quite scary, but she is really quite merry.
There is a spider called Thornyclod, who looks very odd,
      ...
